Pre-CanSkate & CanSkate
About our Programs
Our Pre-CanSkate and CanSkate programs run one night per week from October through to March. The two programs overlap each other, with Pre-CanSkate often running from 6:15 PM - 6:45 PM and CanSkate running from 6:05 PM - 6:50 PM. Our Skate Canada certified coaches, along with our fantastic program assistants, work together to execute the Skate Canada mandated CanSkate program. Your skater will participate in a variety of different circuits that will allow them to work on and build upon many different skating skills.
Skate Canada has six levels that your skater can work through, and each level is broken up into balance, agility and control skills. The focus of these programs is to provide an active learning environment. Thus, your skater would participate in a variety of different circuits and activities every night that include the skills that they would be working on. To participate in our Pre-CanSkate program, skaters must have turned 3 by the time of registration.
If you have any questions about either of these programs, please contact us at woodvilleskatingclub@gmail.com.
What will your skater learn?
A complete series of balance, control and agility skills taught in six stages of learning that pertain to hockey, ringette, speed skating and figure skating as well as general recreational skating. CanSkate uses nationally-tested and proven curriculum and delivery methods that guarantee skater success in developing stronger basic skills and developing them faster.
What can you expect?
Action, movement and fun! Skaters progress at their own rate and coaches make sessions active using teaching aids, upbeat music and a wide variety of activities that create a motivational environment and promote learning. Badges, ribbons and other incentives are used to benchmark skaters’ progress and reward effort and participation.
